Twopart Chair

This chair is a reinvention of an ancient archetype. The ingenious idea that inspired the design is thought to have originally evolved in sub-saharan Africa. In that version, two slabs of wood depend upon each other structurally at the intersection of a square peg and a square hole. This version of the original masterwork re-imagines this idea in a contemporary setting. High-end lounge chairs usually have large footprints; however, deconstructed into a modest, flat-pack sling-chair, it takes up a minimal amount of space, reduces the cost of shipping and allows the end-user to carry it out of a shop without too much trouble.
